Housing and Renters Rights

Housing is a human right. We must create more affordable housing, protect the rights of tenants, and promote opportunities for homeownership. We need to implement a housing first model to combat homelessness, guaranteeing permanent supportive housing and providing wrap around services.

Housing crisis is a public health issue, one that disproportionately harms people of color, working class people, and people with disabilities, substance user disorder or mental illness. We must fight for policies that protect vulnerable renters from unjust eviction or sudden increases in rent. We need to ensure that all development projects are built by local, union labor that protects wages and ensures the highest safety standards.
