Mohamud Noor

Mohamud's story is rooted in community, resilience, education, and public service. After coming to Minnesota, he built a life centered on work, family, service, and giving back to the community that welcomed him.

He earned a degree in Computer Science from Metropolitan State University and worked in technology and public systems, giving him firsthand knowledge of how government programs operate, where systems break down, and how they can be improved to better serve people.

Before serving in the Legislature, Mohamud led community-based work supporting immigrant families, youth, workers, and families navigating public systems. He also served on the Minneapolis Board of Education, where he fought for students, parents, and stronger public schools.

In the Minnesota House, Mohamud has built a strong record of leadership and results. He previously served as Chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Committee and Chair of the Human Services Committee, leading work on economic opportunity, workforce development, small businesses, healthcare, disability services, aging services, and support for Minnesota families.

Today, Mohamud serves as Co-Chair of the Human Services Finance and Policy Committee. In that role, he works on issues affecting seniors, people with disabilities, children, families, caregivers, healthcare providers, and taxpayers across Minnesota.

Mohamud brings a rare combination of lived experience, technical knowledge, community leadership, and legislative experience. He understands the challenges families face and the responsibility government has to deliver results, protect dignity, and make systems work better for everyone.

Listen first, bring people together, and solve problems.
